Clady is a Collection of 40 paintings called after
the oldest bridge in Ireland located where the Clady
River meets the ancient river Boyne. Painted plein air, they are haunting images of a timeless landscape
steeped in Irish history and folklore. The mysteries, fantasies, rituals, loves, joys and all feelings are held in the trees, rivers, the air and the very soil of this ancient place.
Stories of Fionn Mac Cumhail and the Salmon of Knowledge, the monks of the Cistercian Abbey at Bective and the High Kings of Ireland at nearby Tara echo from the ancient River Boyne as it flows through Bective at Clady. The woodland, untouched for decades, is beautifully captured in these unique paintings by the artist who lives at Clady.
